The UW-Madison, Division of Extension offices in Langlade, Marinette, Oconto, and Shawano Counties are sponsoring a pair of crop pest scouting clinics on Friday, August 11. The clinics will help farms understand the late season pests and their impacts, and provide hands-on, in-field training on identification and proper scouting techniques of the primary corn and soy pests. The events are free and all interested persons are welcome to attend. Attendees are also welcome to bring samples from their own fields for identification.
The morning clinic is being held at Kuchta Farms, W6586 County Hwy. M, approximately 6 miles east of Hwy. 141 on M, or 2 miles east of Cty. W. The clinic there begins at 9 a.m. with corn pests and will move to a neighboring soybean field for the conclusion.
