4-H projects are a great way for youth to explore their interests. Youth have the opportunity to learn and practice project skills in a variety of areas. Many youth discover their talents, passion, and life work through their 4-H project experiences.
Project skills aren’t the only things 4-H youth learn and practice. Youth in projects explore life skills such as communication, critical thinking, creativity and innovation, and working cooperatively in a group. Youth are also encouraged to participate in a goal-setting process within their projects.
Project Support in Oconto County 4-H is provided through 4-H Project Leaders, project meetings, and our three annual Project Days. For information about how to get started in a 4-H Animal Project, Animal Science Project Overviews are available for most animal species.
Not sure where to start with 4-H projects? For many, the first step is to attend 4-H Fall Kickoff, but we can get you started at any point in the year. Contact Arvilla Rusnak from the Project Development Committee with your questions.
Youth in 4-H projects have opportunities to apply for Awards and Recognition in the county program, and to exhibit at the Oconto County Fair and the Wisconsin State Fair.
