Farms which sell food items directly to consumers have the opportunity to get their information into the Guide to Home-Grown Produce in Marinette & Oconto Counties. This free listing is available on-line for all area residents to then be able to purchase fruits, vegetables, meat products, and specialty items such as honey, maple syrup, and preserved items.
Farms that are not currently listed are asked to get their information to Scott Reuss, Marinette County Agriculture Agent with the UW-Madison Division of Extension. They can contact him by calling 715-732-7510, 715-923-0807, or e-mailing email@example.com. To see what types of information are listed for different farms, they can view the current version of the guide at the Marinette Extension webpage: https://marinette.extension.wisc.edu/horticulture/local-produce-guide/
There is no fee for farms to have their information listed. Farms with direct sales points in Marinette, Oconto, or Florence Counties are eligible to be listed. Additionally, the farmer’s markets in the area are listed with their hours. Information is requested by May 1st so that Extension staff are able to fully update the guide. Producers with questions about this project, or any other agricultural issue, are urged to contact Reuss via one of the above methods.
